Build it with your AI

Using the CheapCAD Tools connector, design a two-sprocket drive in Sprocket Designer on 520 motorcycle roller chain (ISO 10190), 112 chain links. Sprocket 1: 13 teeth, a front (countershaft) sprocket held by a nut and tab washer; an ISO 4156 involute spline bore, module 1, 20 teeth, 30° pressure angle (a sample spline: use your bike's). Sprocket 2: 48 teeth, a rear sprocket; a 150 mm bolt circle (BCD) with 6 bolts, 8.5 mm holes; a 125 mm centre bore; spokes: tapered spokes, 6 of them, Hub OD 172 mm, Rim Depth 7 mm, Width at Rim 14 mm, Width at Hub 22 mm, Fillet at Rim 4 mm, Fillet at Hub 5 mm. Check the design, apply any Auto-fix it suggests, then export both sprockets as STL and give me the download link.

Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or any AI app with the CheapCAD Tools connector, and it designs this drive with you, checks it and hands you the files. How to connect your AI.

What's in this design

Sprocket 1 · 13 teeth

  • 13T 520 countershaft sprocket, involute spline (m 1 × 20, a sample, not the bike's), nut held
  • 136 MPa peak · SF 3.05 in 4140 steel · rim moves 0.05 mm · 5.94 mm plate · 65 % solid

Sprocket 2 · 48 teeth

  • 48T 520 rear, 6 × 8.5 mm on 150
  • 181 MPa peak · SF 2.77 in 7075-T6 · rim moves 0.38 mm · 5.94 mm plate · 41 % solid

Notes

  • The rear's look is styled after the Moose Racing dual-ring rear (six tapered spokes, long windows). The look only: it is not that maker's part or dimensions, and no maker endorses it.
  • The front's involute spline (module 1, 20 teeth) is a sample, not the KTM 350 EXC-F's countershaft spline: set your own spline in the app before you make a front.
  • The rear's bolt pattern is the app's preset, taken from retailer listings: an approximation, not a fitment guarantee. Measure your own hub.
  • Strength figures are at 254 N·m at the countershaft, an estimate from peak engine torque in first gear: 37 N·m × 72/24 primary × 32/14 1st (KTM; spec listings).

The link opens both sprockets and the chain in the Sprocket Designer's 3D Mode. Change the teeth, bore, hub or spokes, then download STL, STEP, DXF or SVG. Strength figures are the app's plane-stress check of each sprocket in the material it names; SF is the safety factor.
